Weezer Lead Singer Injured in Bus Crash in Amsterdam, New York

weezercrash3.jpg
40-year-old Rivers Cuomo, the lead singer of the popular band Weezer, broke several ribs and suffered minor internal injuries after the tour bus he was traveling in slid on black ice and ran across the highway into a ditch. One other person on the bus was hurt, but his wife, 2-year-old daughter, and another passenger were uninjured.

The bus was travelling from Toronto, Ontario to Boston, Massachusetts. The crash occurred Sunday evening while eastbound on the New York State Thruway. It had snowed a couple of inches during the night, and the roads were wet, though not covered with snow.

It’s a relief to know the child on the bus was not injured. I hope Mr. Cuomo and the other injured person have a speedy recovery.
