Head-On Accident In North Fort Worth Kills 2
Last night there was a head-on collision in north Fort Worth that tragically ended two lives. Michael Hariston, 61 and Terry Debo, 46, both from Fort Worth were pronounced dead at the scene. The accident happened about 8 p.m. on U.S. 287 at Blue Mound Road. One of the vehicles was a small truck traveling south in the northbound lane on U.S. 287 that collided with a small S.U.V.
A Fort Worth Fire Department news release stated that Wise County Sheriff's Department dispatchers had received reports of a truck going south in the northbound lanes of U.S. 287. Several Wise County deputies were searching for the truck when the wreck occurred, Fort Worth fire officials said. The northbound lanes of the highway were closed for several hours while authorities investigated the crash.
Our deepest sympathies go out to both Hariston and Debo and their family and friends. Wrong way accidents have been happening frequently around Fort Worth and the outcomes have unfortunately been fatal. Studies show that 72 percent of head-on wrecks take place between 8:00p.m.and 5:00 a.m.
